Alrow Media presents new board member

The Board of Directors of Alrow Media welcomes a new member. Lars Vesterløkke, the outgoing editor-in-chief and CEO of Ritzau's Bureau for the last 16 years, will join the board as from August 1st 2024.

Lars Vesterløkke, who is a journalist, was previously executive director at Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) (2001-07). He is chairman of the Media House Sermitsiaq in Greenland and will be taking on a new role as a consultant and coach at the consulting house Beecon in August 2024.

Lars Vesterløkke replaces Anne Marie Kindberg. She was recently appointed as the new CEO of the media company, which publishes the political online newspaper Altinget in the Scandinavian countries and the weekly Monday Morning in Denmark with its associated think tank.

Rasmus Nielsen, chairman and owner of Alrow Media, says about the appointment:
"Lars Vesterløkke is recognized for his strategic, commercial and editorial skills and will bring additional, up-to-date industry knowledge and skills to the Board of Directors. Both in terms of the use of AI, new digital opportunities, product packaging and the intensified competitive situation. From Ritzau, which in size is comparable to Altinget, Lars meets with a lighthouse-like view of the Danish and Norwegian media worlds in particular. We especially need that overview in a time of change in the media business."

The new board member says:
"With its many publications, Alrow Media makes a very important democratic contribution to society. I would like to contribute to this, just as I have done in DR and Ritzau. At the same time, Alrow Media is a successful media house that has managed to grow year after year, while most media houses shrank. But media habits and consumption are changing, and this is also a challenge facing Alrow Media. It is an exciting challenge."

The Board of Directors will consist of Rasmus Nielsen, Lars L. Nielsen, Peter Normann, Christina Sulebakk and Lars Vesterløkke.
